• Identity & Access Management: Implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and enforce the principle of least privilege, ensuring users and systems only have the access strictly necessary to perform their jobs.
• System & Software Updates: Regularly apply patches to operating systems, applications, and firmware to quickly close known security vulnerabilities.
• Data Protection & Backups: Use strong encryption for sensitive information and execute regular, automated backups stored in secure, offsite, or isolated locations. 
• Vulnerability Scanning & Network Defense: Monitor network traffic for anomalous behavior and deploy tools like firewalls, VPNs, and antivirus programs. 
• Incident Response & Disaster Planning: Develop and continually test a written incident plan so teams know exactly what steps to take during a breach, data loss, or emergency.
• User Training & Awareness: Provide ongoing cybersecurity awareness training to help staff spot phishing attempts, avoid dangerous downloads, and handle confidential data correctly.
